Carli Jefferson (she/they) is an artist, dancer, choreographer, percussionist and clown, who began her professional career touring internationally with STOMP (2001-2004).

 

Originally trained as a tap-dancer, Carli has spent over twenty years specialising in body percussion, performing, teaching and making original choreographies for stage and screen.

In Lunatraktors, Carli creates tonal percussion lines that combine polyrhythmic and melodic elements. Carli's eclectic drum kit is the result of years of travelling and collecting percussive objects for their specific tone and character. Carli composes and sings vocal harmonies by ear and works on arranging sound and stage elements to tell stories.

A lifelong artist, Carli is also often behind the camera, photographing and filming performances, costumes and installations.
